![]() Pickguard had been replaced with a wooden home made one, hence extra screw holes. I have sanded the face flat to re-do the finish and will hopefully manage to blend it into the original. Maple cap neck, 70's style, tuners had been replaced with Schaller mini's probably some time ago. I have also seen on the Ibanez forum that the early (71-75) guitars from the Fuji Gen factory didn't have serial numbers. I have since seen images of the neck pocket in an Ibanez Strat from 1977 which has very similar marks. Standard 'Made In Japan' stamped neckplate. I thought by the finish and bullet truss rod it would be 70's but the neck pocket is clearly marked 'H 1988' Neck has markings too as can be seen in the photos. Dot spacing at 12th also different but both could easily be from either maker if they came from the same plant. I thought it might be a Hohner after some googling but the channel under the bullet truss rod looks more like some Ibanez's that I've seen. The name on the headstock had literally been gouged out to about 1/16th" so no help there except it was quite small, same location and size as the early Hohner script style logo. Hi, picked up a Strat copy in a local charity shop a couple of weeks ago. ![]()
